Landscape Associates was founded in 1978 by Laurie Freeman, in the rich agricultural Skagit valley of western Washington state.  Along with her university degrees in Landscape Architecture and Ornamental Horticulture, Laurie had a life-long love of the beauty of nature all around us.

For the next twenty years, Laurie and her staff of employees were instrumental in the design and installation of hundreds of landscape projects throughout northwestern Washington.  From tiny backyard patios to large regional playfields and industrial sites, Landscape Associates provided creative and innovative designs coupled with practical and economical installation.

It is highly unusual for a Landscape Architect to take such an active role in the daily hands-on aspects of landscape construction, and that's what sets Landscape Associates apart from the crowd.  Laurie's daily interaction with general contractors, along with her own labor crews, provided her with a working knowledge of the construction process -- and this practical knowledge is a part of every landscape design produced by her firm.

In order to better serve an ever-growing list of clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, Landscape Associates opened a second office in the Vancouver, BC area and Laurie devoted herself to the full-time practice of Landscape Architecture.
